When Jordan Brand designers, design a sneaker for Michael Jordan it usually has some sort of relationship with MJ’s personal life which brings us to this Bently which inspired the Air Jordan XXI! JB designer D’Wayne Edwards, took his talents to MJ’s gradge for the inspiration for the Air Jordan XXI which was inspired by Jordan’s 2005 Bentley Continental GT Coupe, which you can see hints of on the shoes with the full grain leather base, the grille on the shoes and the quilted stitched inner bootie.
The Bentley is a 2005 Continental GT Coupe with only 12,000 miles on it. It has a W-12 engine (which is two V-6 engines sitting side by side) with twin turbo chargers and 552 horsepower. It was personalized by Jordan with dark tinted glass, a set of $9,000 Lowenhart wheels and a talking radar system with front and rear sensors.
The Bentley that inspired the “AJ XXI” was sold to the Volvo Auto Museum which is owned by Greg Grams according to CSN Chicago! The Bentley is in good company though as it will join the likes of the Bonnie & Clyde “Death Car” as well as the original KITT from Knight Rider, and the Beverly Hillbillies’ truck to name a few!
If your in the area feel free to check the Bentley out as well as a number of other great rides!
